Indonesian Education Face Now and The Challenges Asian Economic Community AEC

Demo-hardiknas.jpg-464x284Listening to the reality of education in Indonesia is now very heartbreaking. Education sector as a pedestal base to empower the people of Indonesia in realizing the objectives of this nation, social justice actually very far from justice. Instead of realizing social welfare, the opportunity to access education is still very little.

The condition of education in Indonesia today, so in away from the substance of the purpose of education in the 1945 Constitution mandate that is, the intellectual life of the nation. It can be seen from all aspects relating to education, such as the commercialization of education, education as labor supply and labor-cheap labor, education submitted on free market mechanisms, and education as a field of industrialization. It can not be separated from the policies of the government in regulating the national education system that is not oriented to the interests of society.

Displayed in a variety of policies that are not pro-people like BHMN Law, Education Law, Company Law etc. The output of these policies are still not able to eradicate the people of Indonesia in his rights to get free education and scientific. Various issues of education can not be separated from the Indonesian education system that has been in the capitalization of the various aspects

1. Komersilisasi Education

The development of the National Education System now that has profanity, can not remove the entry from the history of education in the capitalization of the new order. Capital grip is so powerful in the world of education at the end of the Soeharto era, so it has to provide a basic education utilization to meet the needs of the owners of capital, both in labor issues, research and development, production, and even make educates students as a market good products related to the needs of teaching and learning activities, or that there is no relationship at all to the world of education.

Neoliberal policies for education in Indonesia appears in Education Autonomy in which there are Quality Improvement Management School-Based Education for primary and secondary education and the Autonomous State University (otherwise known as the Autonomous Student Campus).

As signed the Letter of Intentions (LoI) between the Indonesian government and the IMF, the IMF agreement and the Government is not separated from the Washington Consensus recipe to hand over education to the free market mechanism with the government is required to release all the social needs of the public subsidy programs, including education, and focus the use of funds for the payment of foreign debts. The government also dictated imperialism to liberalize the domestic market for investment and foreign products, especially from the imperialist countries.

With the process so that the policy is issued is autonomous campus, where the campus seemed to be independent to meet operasionalnnya. This is resulting in expensive education, by providing the widest lead college campus autonomy seeking funding from various aspects of the business entity resulting in the appearance of the campus such as hospitals, Villa, Field Sports, Campus Facilities at designated for the public in order to make a profit, and the saddest is burdensome high tuition on students and all of it is summarized in government policy, the constitution of Higher Education (constitution PT).

It all used to make profits for the campus, making it clear that only the rich can enjoy a decent education and producing millions of poor children were retarded and mass duping. In principle, the campus also stressed the autonomy of the intervention over the capitalists, both local, national, or international in accordance with an agreement with the IMF prescriptions through letter of intern (LoI) from countries capitalist great that independent campus.

In addition, graduates of higher education is what is called the labor aristocracy, the administrator of the company and government tasked to serve the interests of capital but by pressing other workers who are in the strata below them.

2. Means of Education Workers Providers and Cheap Labor

Wrack government in directing the education process in the interests of industrialization capital. More concern educated sector or students not to be free in the search for scientific knowledge but are directed at practical importance in the current industrialization prepared for technical personnel in order to accelerate the development of industrial capital factories. This concept in the model of true education system that cuts the learning objectives with the policy system existing curriculum, in which subjects were cut into pieces and only to immediately prepare skilled workers who serve the interests of capitalists, It’s clear by the presence of the Credit System Semester (SKS).

SKS was indeed more favorable than the capitalists benefit students. By shortening the study period, the supply of skilled labor can be guaranteed. And when supply exceeds demand, the principles of the labor market for skilled labor may apply. The greater the number of college graduates, the higher the bargaining position of the owners of capital and the lower the bargaining position of the skilled workers. It gets worse with the release of the government agreement on the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015 that one of the main frame liberalize labor.

On the other side of education intended to print a ready labor support company, is exacerbated by the liberalization of labor in competitiveness. The presence of AEC will free flow of labor from one country to another in about ASEAN, so it will turn off the power source of the working people of Indonesia. It caused our human resources is still a big question mark, when faced with the human resources of other countries.

3. AEC 2015

ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) already exists in front of us. Government policies impose AEC agreement generated a lot of pros and cons. Agreement or AEC more in the know with AEC (ASEAN Economic Community) is a result of an agreement blueprint members of ASEAN countries in the ASEAN summit since 1967 in Bangkok.

The objective is the implementation of AEC s containing framework, ASEAN as a single market and production base with an element of international free flow of goods, services, investment and labor learners and free capital flows. AEC will integrate the flow of goods free of non-tariff and administrative barriers. Investment liberalization became the main agenda, then create a climate conducive to the challenge in the AEC . AEC deal agreed at the meeting of ASEAN economic ministers in 2006 in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Faced with AEC policy making big challenge for human resources in Indonesia.

The face of education we are still far from the education that the intellectual life of the nation and the state, it can be seen literacy rate of approximately 15.3% in 2013, while the unemployment rate of 7.3% according to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of 2013. This figure is looking extent Indonesian education is still weak and must be confronted with the free competitiveness increasingly extending unemployment and the decline in the quality of education in Indonesia.

Commercialization of education and labor liberalization product is government policy that pro-imperialism, the more miserable people of Indonesia. Enforcement of AEC and the various international agreements oriented liberalization in all sectors, making further loss of national sovereignty. Government policies do not reflect the country’s highest constitutional namely 1945.

Principles such as liberation liberalization, fiscal and other barriers, privatization, deregulation, and the free market has cornered the welfare of Indonesian society. So far AEC and contradictory policies of the mandate of the 1945 Constitution and Pancasila (five principal). Sector liberalization of trade in services, investment and labor contrary to Article 33 UUD1945 clear in Article 1, 2 and 3 states, first, “The economy is structured as a joint effort based on the principle of kinship”. Second, the “branches of production that are important to the State and which dominate the life of the people controlled by the State”. Third, “Earth, water and natural resources contained therein controlled by the State and used for the welfare of the people”. It is clear that the government has betrayed the Constitution and submit education in the interests of free market mechanisms that harm the people of Indonesia.
